Teleios exists to shape lives – so that we may dare to say – ‘Look at my marriage, my business, my home, my finances, my work – and in looking at my life, you will see the Father.
The body is not a collection of individuals coming together to form one large individual called Christ. If that were the case then Christ would derive his identity from us. No – the body is made up of parts that come together to form a whole.
Christ is the loaf. We are the parts – fragments put together in Him – sharing his life. We are not little loafs coming together to from one big loaf called Christ.
Perhaps the most beautiful construct on the face of the earth – is this wonderful God-crafted thing called the Body – a metaphor and mystery not mentioned in the Old Testament – and revealed only through Paul’s letters.
David caught a far-away glimpse of this stunning reality in Psalm 48 – Beautiful in situation, joy of the whole earth, is Mt. Zion at the side of the north, the city of the great King (Psalm 48:2).
Today, some know her as the Bride, others call it the Church, some dare say Zion…
Regardless the Body was in the mind of God before the foundations of the earth – and in the fullness of time, God sent His Son to establish the Kingdom – and raise here on earth a people of God called the Body of Christ.
